Standard & Poor's has rolled out a toolbox for intermediaries who sell variable annuities. The
Variable Annuity module is part of the New York City-based firm's
Advisor Insight Web-based product suite.
It includes Standard & Poor's variable annuity policy statements on more than 700 policies, NASD-compliant reports on more than 9,000 sub-accounts, and variable annuity hypothetical modeling, according to the firm. The data includes policy fees and expenses, policy features and riders, and sub-account performance.
The individual sub-account reports include average total return data, 10k performance, fees and expenses, Modern Portfolio Theory statistics, bull/bear periods, and best/worst total returns over a range of time periods -- week, month, six months, one-, three-, five-, and ten-years, or since inception.
The offering also features a variable annuities hypothetical engine designed to function similarly to the S&P mutual fund hypothetical engine," said
