Brandes Investment Partners is taking the wraps off a new mutual fund family for Canadian investors next Tuesday. The nine new funds will be distributed through financial advisors north of the border and feature a value bent in their investment philosophy.
Brandes will act as the investment advisor to each of the funds.
State Street Trust Company Canada will act as custodian and fund account and
International Financial Data Services (a joint venture between State Street and DST) is the registrar and transfer agent.
Charles Brandes, chairman of Brandes Investment Partners, said that the offerings reflect the firm's commitment to the Canadian market.
"Our new Canadian operation and our nine new funds will enable us to broaden and deepen the services we provide to Canadian advisors and their clients, allowing us to bring a wider application of Brandes' value investing approach to Canadians," said Brandes.
Oliver Murray, president and chief operating officer of Brandes, said the new funds were designed to encompass a range of Canadian, U.S., global and international investment mandates.
"The well-known Brandes philosophy of value investing is especially appropriate for Canadians in the current investment climate," Murray said.
The line-up will include: Canadian Equity, Balanced and Money Market funds; U.S. Equity and U.S. Small Cap Equity funds; Global Equity and Global Small Cap Equity funds; and International Equity and Emerging Markets funds.
