In its monthly "Investing in Funds" section, the
Wall Street Journal profiled Michael Hasenstab, manager of the Morningstar's top rated world-bond fund over the past decade.
As head of
Franklin Templeton's Templeton Global Bond fund, Hasenstab avoids modeling his portfolio on a bond index and often avoids countries with large debt if he doesn't like the long term financial outlook. For example, the fund doesn't hold debt from Japan or the United Kingdom, and holds no TIPS.
