Highland Capital Management hired Western Asset Management veteran Steve Delarosa as managing director. Delarosa, whose post is newly created, reports to Kevin Latimer, head of business development.

Delarosa is tasked with managing the Dallas-headquarted firm's relationships with existing investors and and maintaining ties with investment consultants.

Delarosa previously spent 11 years at Wamco.
