Vanguard Group Inc. CEO
Bill McNabb has told the the firm's 12,500 employees via his blog that they can now dress more casually,
InvestmentNews reports.
McNabb's decision to lose the ties reportedly stemmed from an e-mail he got from one of his longtime client who wanted to have lunch with him, but only if he didn't suit up. McNabb told the pub that the client felt "uncomfortable" with his attire.
As a result, on Nov. 23, McNabb said on his blog
on the company intranet that Vanguard would go business "appropriate," and that its global workforce of 12,500 employees no longer have to don suits unless they are meeting with clients.
