BILL MANTHORNE AND BRIAN McCARTHY JOIN GE ASSET MANAGEMENT Sales Team Additions to Drive Continued Growth of Firm’s Intermediary Business Presence

Stamford, CT – March 7, 2011 – GE Asset Management Incorporated (GEAM) today announced the addition of two senior sales professionals to its intermediary business team. Bill Manthorne, a 17-year industry veteran, has joined the firm as Vice President – Sub-Advised Sales, reporting to Mike Cosgrove, President and CEO – Mutual Funds and Intermediary Business. Brian McCarthy, who brings almost 20 years of experience to GEAM, joins as Defined Contribution Investment Only (DCIO) Channel Leader, reporting to Joe Connors, Senior Vice President – DCIO and Annuity Channels. Both roles are newly-created positions that expand GEAM’s sales presence in two critical areas of its intermediary business.

These additions reflect a continued GEAM commitment to the sub-advisory and DCIO markets, where it has for several years placed increasing emphasis on developing new relationships and significantly growing assets under management. The two channels represent natural extensions of GEAM’s history as an institutional asset manager, which is built on its 80-year heritage of investment expertise and origins as the manager of GE’s U.S. Pension Trust. “Bill’s experience and expertise in the sub-advisory space make him an exceptional choice to augment our distribution efforts in this market,” said Cosgrove. “His presence on our team is another key component in our strategy to enhance our effectiveness throughout GEAM’s intermediary business with additional, talented resources.”

“Brian is a proven sales professional with an extensive network of relationships in the retirement market,” added Connors. “As we build on our existing DCIO business, we will rely on his knowledge and skills to help us reach a larger group of investors that can benefit from our capabilities as longterm investors.”

Previously he held sales roles at CitiStreet, IXIS Asset Management and Fidelity Investments. He received his BA in Political Science from the University of New Hampshire.

McCarthy most recently served as Managing Director – National Accounts Investment Only with The Hartford Mutual Funds, with responsibility for sales and relationship management for the recordkeeping channel.
