How Do You Find the Biggest RIAs?

Reported by Neil Anderson, Managing Editor

Fundsters looking for top advisors to distribute through now have a new resource to turn to. Today BrightScope unveiled the first of a series of lists for different cities of top RIAs, by assets.

BrightScope joins the ranks of firms datamining sources of advisor information that include the Discovery database, MeridianIQ and Labworks' RIA Database.

The first list identifies the "Top 25 Registered Investment Advisors in New York City."

The city lists draw from the regulatory data and more used in the publicly-searchable BrightScope Advisor Pages database that the San Diego-based firm launched earlier this year [see MFWire.com, 4/26/2011].

The top five RIAs on the list are: Silvercrest Asset Management Group with $9.6 billion; Atalanta Sosnoff Management with $6.2 billion; Pinnacle Associates with $5.0 billion; Schafer Cullen Capital Management with $4.6 billion; and KLS Professional Advisors Group with $4.1 billion.

Company Press release

SAN DIEGO, CA--(October 26, 2011) - BrightScope (www.brightscope.com), a leading provider of independent financial information and investment research, today announced the Top 25 Registered Investment Advisors in New York City, focused on individual money management, with the greatest amount of assets under management.
