American Express Financial Advisors is continuing to seek talent. Today it tapped hired Thomas W. Murphy from BlackRock Financial Management for its fixed income portfolio management group. He takes the title of vice president, Investment Grade Corporates, a new position within the Fixed Income Investment Group and reports to Michelle M. Keeley, senior vice president.

Murphy will be responsible for providing investment grade corporate sector-specific strategic guidance and portfolio management to the company's retail, institutional and owned-asset portfolios and will play a senior leadership role within the fixed income group.

Murphy worked for 10 years with Zurich Scudder Investments in Chicago prior to BlackRock.
