Scout's CIO Jumps to a Wealth Manager

Scout Funds' [profile] chief investment officer just joined a wealth management firm. Yesterday Leawood, Kansas-based Mariner Wealth Advisors revealed the addition of Bill Greiner as CIO

Greiner first joined Kansas City, Missouri-based Scout's parent, UMB, 13 years ago as CIO for Northern Trust. A spokeswoman for Scout spokeswoman told MFWire.com that Scout is "not currently planning to replace him." The PM team will now report to Scout's CEO, Andy Iseman.

Mariner's sibling, Montage Investments, is an acquirer of asset management firms. Its 14 boutiques include several mutual fund firms: Convergence Investment Partners, Nuance Investments, Palmer Square Capital Management and Tortoise Capital Advisors [see MFWire.com, 2/6/2012].

He was named BusinessWeek’s 2005 Stock Market Strategist of the Year and has appeared multiple times on national television as an industry expert, including appearances on Bloomberg Television, CNBC and CNBC Worldwide. He has also expressed his views on the U.S. economy in publications such as Barron’s, The Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek.
