One of the industry's most scrutinized investment teams in the industry, the 126 analysts and PMs of the
Fidelity Select sector fund group at
Fidelity [
profile], is ready for its closeup, according to
InvestmentNews.
The financial pub gave ink to a number of notable members in this team, including:
Peter Dixon, PM of the
Fidelity Select Retailing Fund;
Christopher Bartel senior vice president of equity research;
Matthew Schuldt, PM of the
Fidelity Select Computers Fund; and
John Roth, PM of the $2-billion
Fidelity New Millennium Fund.
The pub notes that this group not only manages the
Fidelity Select sector funds but also provide the research blood for the entire Fidelity mutual fund family.
According to
InvestmentNews there has been a "relatively low asset total" in the funds thanks to a "lack of push", but that is about to change, according to Bartel.
Fidelity recently began advertising the funds, but what could really thrust them into the spotlight would be an ETF makeover, according to experts cited in the article.
For example,
InvestmentNews said that one move that hinted at the company's ETF intentions was the hiring of Anthony Rochte, a former managing director at State Street Global Advisors, the second-largest pro-vider of ETFs, to head a new division focused on sector investing.
