Sports fans have likely heard of the
Sports Illustrated cover jinx -- if an athlete or team is featured on the cover of the venerable publication, they'll suffer defeat or a downturn in performance soon.
Should fundsters be worried about a
jinx of their own -- the
Morningstar award jinx?
Honestly, probably not.
According to some pretty detailed analysis from
Morningstar mutual fund analyst Kailin Liu, PMs who win Fund Manager of the Year Awards don't tend to do worse in the long term than the average manager.
