Alliance Capital is rebranding its fund distribution unit to reflect its acquisition of Sanford Bernstein. The move comes after Alliance has made headlines for its investments in Enron. The New York City-based asset manager has also shaken up its fund distribution efforts over the past 18 months.
The distribution arm, which had been known as Alliance Fund Distributors, is taking the new name of
AllianceBernstein Investment Research and Management. The new name will take effect on March 31 and comes more than two years after Alliance purchased Sanford Bernstein in the summer of 2000.
The firm did not announce and personnel shifts with the change in name.
The new brand will be used for all of the firm's products, including its retail funds, managed accounts, variable annuities.
