Amanda Grant confirms that she recently signed on as a principal at
Third Street Partners, alongside fellow principal
David Schumer and founding partner
Laura Pollock. Pollock created Third Street about two and a half years ago.
Grant describes Third Street as "a fully-retained executive search firm" that focuses specifically on "all of the front line positions" in investing or distribution within the the asset management and asset allocator industry.
Grant most recently spent more than four years leading an adoption consultancy business, yet her experience is primarily on the distribution side of asset management. She previously led institutional client service at Columbia Management, and prior to that she led global relationship management at Babson Capital Management.

"I'm very excited to have made this career change ... I wanted to come back into this industry and I wanted to come back in a different way," Grant tells
MFWire. "Coming from the perspective of being a hiring manager for over 25 years in the industry, I had no idea what goes into search when it is done well ... [Managers] don't realize that search firm can be an ongoing partner giving them insight into the market to help them make business decisions.
Grant points to Third Street's in-house research team and research budget, and the fact that at least two of the three principals will work on each search, as key differentiators for the recruiting shop.
"We take it from one-dimensional to three-dimensional," Grant says, adding that "there is no handoff" of clients or candidates.
