A famously political mutual fund industry entrepreneur is throwing his weight behind
Donald Trump.

The Hill reports that, per an email
Foster Friess sent to them, the
Friess Associates founder has decided to support the presumptive Republican nominee for U.S. President.
USA Today also picked up on Friess' move. Friess Associates runs the
Brandywine Funds [

Friess
passed the baton at his eponymous fund firm (which is backed by serial acquirer AMG) in 2002. In 2012, the retired
not-quite-billionaire was a key backer of Republican presidential contender
Rick Santorum.
The Hill reports that Friess would've preferred Santorum this time around, too, yet the retired fundster says that "the choice is stark" between Trump and leading Democratic presidential candidate
Hillary Clinton.
