Steinberg Picks a Right Hand

Reported by Neil Anderson, Managing Editor

Jono Steinberg has picked a right hand at WisdomTree [profile], passing off one of his hats and one hat of another top executive at the firm.

Robert Jarrett Lilien
WisdomTree Investments, Inc.
President, Chief Operating Officer
Yesterday Steinberg confirmed that he promoted Jarrett Lilien, executive vice president and head of emerging technologies, to president and chief operating officer of WisdomTree Investments. Steinberg, who previously held the president spot, will continue to serve as CEO at the New York City-based, publicly traded ETF provider. Executive vice president Stuart Bell preceded Lilien as WisdomTree Investments' COO and now serves as COO of its WisdomTree Asset Management subsidiary. The changes took effect last Thursday.

Jonathan Laurence Steinberg
WisdomTree Investments, Inc.
CEO
Lilien describes WisdomTree as "poised for accelerated growth and ... uniquely positioned within one of the fastest growing segments of the financial services industry." Steinberg lauds Lilien as "a proven leader" who "has been an integral contributor to [WisdomTree's] strategy."

"In his new role, Jarrett [Lilien] will enhance the execution of our growth strategy while driving further efficiencies in the business to the benefit of our shareholders and other stakeholders," Steinberg states.

Lilien, an alumnus of the University of Vermont, joined WisdomTree in late 2017 after serving on its board of directors for nine years. (He still serves on the board of WisdomTree's roboadvisor ally, AdvisorEngine.) Before joining WisdomTree full time, Lilien led his own VC firm, Bendigo Partners, and before that he served as president and COO of E*Trade. He co-founded and led TIR Securities (which E*Trade acquired) and worked at Paine Webber and Autranet.

Bell, an alumnus of Trinity College-Hartford, has worked with WisdomTree for a dozen years in a variety of roles, including director of international business and director of corporate communications and investor relations. Before joining WisdomTree, he worked with Sloane & Company.
