A senior Allianz Global Investors distribution veteran is joining an equity income SMA and ETF shop in the Southeast.

Keith Charles Wagner Capital Wealth Planning, LLC Managing Director, Head of National Accounts and Institutional sales

On Monday, Kevin Simpson, founder and CEO of Capital Wealth Planning, confirmed that Keith Wagner recently joined the Naples, Florida-based firm as managing director and head of national accounts and institutional sales. Wagner previously served as managing director at Allianz GI, where he spent 12 years, before leaving earlier this year.

A spokesperson for AllianzGI confirmed Wagner's departure. Wagner's move comes as another fund firm is preparing to take over AllianzGI's retail distribution in the U.S.

Simpson stated, "Keith brings significant institutional investment management experience to the CWP team, along with a strong foundation and understanding of retail investing and behavioral finance

Before Wagner joined AllianzGI in 2008, he was a managing director at Neuberger Berman. Earlier on, he worked at American Beacon and PNC. Before becoming part of the civilian workforce, Keith was an airplane and helicopter pilot and major in the U.S. Army

Wagner received his Bachelors of Science in engineering and management at United States Military Academy at West Point.
