Jeffrey Gundlach, an
early predictor of Donald Trump's 2016 victory, is now predicting that Trump will win reelection next week. But he's not as confident this time.

"The polls right now say he isn't going to win, but they said that four years ago," Gundlach, CEO of
DoubleLine Capital, said Tuesday at Schwab's virtual 2020
Impact conference,
Financial Advisor reports. "Mind you, my conviction is way lower than it was four years ago. But back in [that period], when Trump was little more than an asterisk in the betting odds, I predicted he was going to win. This one is much more murky, but in my eyes, it favors a Trump win."
Gundlach also reportedly predicted that Republicans will likely keep control of the Senate next week, regardless of who wins the presidency.
Last year, Gundlach publicly
wondered if Trump might drop out of the 2020 race.
As for his other remarks this week, he also offered takes on challenger Joe Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris, hints at concerns about 2024 and beyond, his own political beliefs, and an
alternative to MPT.
