Mario Gabelli just broke a record that he himself set back in 2010.

Fordham News,
Greenwich Time, and the
New York Post all report that Greenwich, Connecticut-based Gabelli, chairman and CEO of Rye, New York-based
Gamco Investors [
profile], is donating $35 million to Bronx, New York-based
Fordham University. The donation, through the Gabelli Foundation, will cover 47 percent of the $75-million goal for the university's centennial campaign, and it is the largest single donation in the school's history.
A decade ago, Gabelli gave what was then Fordham's biggest donation, $25 million, and the school renamed its business school as the Gabelli School of Business. Then in 2018, Mario Gabelli and his wife, Regina Gabelli,
signed on to a famous pledge to give away the majority of their wealth. (
Forbes estimates Gabelli's net worth as $1.7 billion.) The couple are both alumni of Fordham.
