A national accounts has departed a West Coast mutual fund giant, moving on to a Capital City private equity firm.

Earlier this month, former Franklin Templeton [profile] vice president of retail national accounts Sofia Flynn joined Washington, D.C.-based Carlyle Group as head of national accounts for the Americas. Flynn joined Legg Mason back in 2015 and stayed on after its acquisition by Franklin in 2020.

Spokespeople for neither Carlyle nor Franklin Templeton were immediately able to comment on this story.

At Legg Mason, Flynn started as a business development associate, a role she remained in until 2018. That year, she was promoted to director and national account manager. Prior to joining Legg Mason, Flynn was with Morgan Stanley, Smith Barney, and Citigroup. She is an alumna of Boston College.
