In another one of its many efforts to retain key staff in the wake of the mutual fund trading scandal engulging it, Putnam Investments shelled out bigger bonuses a month earlier than usual yesterday, and dropped no-compete clauses from contracts offered to new employees, Bloomberg reports.
Putnam also stopped extending some of its senior managers' bonuses over five years. Officials at the comapny said both moves aim to boost employee morale.
