Mark Giuliano, senior managing director and chief administrative officer of Invesco Ltd. [profile], died last Saturday, March 2, CEO Andrew Schlossberg confirmed yesterday. Decatur, Georgia-based Giuliano was 62 years old.

Mark Francis Giuliano, an alumnus of the College of Wooster, began what his family describes as "his life's calling" in 1988 when he became a special agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He spent 28 years with the FBI, working in Atlanta and D.C., eventually rising to deputy director and chief operating officer.

In early 2016, Guiliano retired from the FBI and began his second career at Invesco. He first served as the Atlanta-based fund firm's chief security officer, and since 2018 he served as CAO.

Schlossberg describes Giuliano as "a dear friend and colleague, and an invaluable member of [Invesco's] Executive Leadership Team." The Invesco team adds that Giuliano "led selflessly and was the consummate teammate."

"His contributions to Invesco's business over his eight years with the firm have been immeasurable, but his ability to connect with and care for our people is what we will miss most," Schlossberg states. "The entire Invesco community mourns his passing, and we extend our deepest condolences to his family. We will all miss him terribly."

"His hallmark was 'One team, One fight,'" the Invesco team writes, "and that spirit rallied thousands of our employees through significant transformations in the business."

Giuliano's family describes the late Invesco leader and FBI veteran as "most importantly a devout Christian" whose "love, selflessness, commitment, and dedication to his family were unsurpassed." They note that he was an avid boater, cyclist, and hiker.

"The world has lost a true hero," Giuliano's family writes in an obituary notice.

Giuliano is survived by his wife, three children, and a host of other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, Giuliano's family is directing donations in his memory to the At-Promise Initiative and the American Heart Association.

Visitation is scheduled for today from 1pm to 3pm eastern and from 5pm to 8pm, at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel in Snellville, Georgia. A funeral mass is slated for 11:30am tomorrow at St. John Neuman Catholic Church in Liburn, Georgia.
