Folks at four asset managers may have been breaking out some champagne last week after a financial advisor trade publication's recent awards show.

Last Wednesday, December 11,, ALM's ThinkAdvisor team honored the winners of the 2024 Luminaries Awards in an awards ceremony, networking reception, and dinner at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas. The celebration came at the tail end of the 16th annual MarketCounsel Summit, also held at the Fontainbleau, and the ThinkAdvisor folks wrapped things up the next day (last Thursday, December 12) with roundtable sessions and a networking brunch.

ThinkAdvisor reports that there were 85 2024 Luminaries Awards winners, chosen from 242 finalist organizations. Those winners included four in the asset management space: two winning firms, and two winning leaders.

John Le, director of marketing at Cambiar Investors, won an individual "thought leader of the year" award. And Omar Aguilar, CEO and chief investment of Schwab Asset Management, won an individual "executive of the year" award.

At the firm level, F/m Investments won an award for innovation. And Research Affiliates won an award for thought leadership and education.
