MFS has launched a fund-of-funds intended to provide U.S. investors with greater international diversification.
The new fund, called the International Diversification Fund, will invest in five of MFS' international funds with varying allocations: 30 percent in the MFS Research International Fund, 25 percent in the MFS International Growth Fund, 25 percent in the MFS International Value Fund, 10 percent in the MFS International New Discovery Fund, and 10 percent in the MFS Emerging Markets Fund.
Thomas Melendez, vice president and member of the firm's international equity portfolio management team, will manage a team of investment professionals who will determine the underlying funds and fund allocations.
"Investors diversify their domestic equity portfolios by investment styles and market capitalizations, but often don't view international investing in the same way," stated
Robert Manning, chief executive officer and chief investment officer of MFS.
