  • Background:
    Created by Commerce Bank in late 1993 and early 1994 as a proprietary fund group, the initial six funds launched in December of 1994 with $251 million in AUM.

    The six initial funds were: Growth, Aggressive Growth [now MidCap Growth Fund], Balanced [closed], Bond, Short-Term Government and International Equity. In February of 1995 the bank added the National and Missouri Tax-Free Funds. Subsequently, Value, Asset Allocation, Core Equity and Kansas Tax Free also joined the family.

    The Commerce Funds claimed $1.9 billion in AUM in 2007.
