In 1989 stockbroker Amy Domini, author of Ethical Investing, teamed up with Peter Kinder and Lydenberg to create the Domini 400 Social Index. The index launched in 1990, and in 1991 they launched the Domini Impact Equity Fund to track that index. Ever since, the firm has stayed focus on responsible investing (i.e. SRI or ESG).
As of late 2016, Domini's three mutual funds have a combined $1.6 billion in AUM.
Domini Social Investments rebranded on November 30, 2016 as Domini Impact Investments, and its three funds also rebranded accordingly.
