  • Background:
The MetWest Funds are advised by Metropolitan West Asset Management, now a wholly-owned subsidiary of the TCW Group.

MetWest was founded in 1996 under MetWest Ventures by founder, chairman, and CEO Richard S. Hollander. MetWest had a balanced mix between their capability of large investment manager and their origins of a passionate boutique bond shop. Their main focus was a dedication to "providing a fresh perspective on fixed income, using a value-driven investment philosophy to create a client-centered culture", keeping their focus exclusively on income portfolio management.

The mutual fund shop was acquired by rival Los Angeles-based fixed income manager TCW [profile] in February 2010.
