Background:

Candace King Weir started Paradigm Capital Management in
1994. The employee-owned firm specializes in small-cap investing.
The company had focused primarily on the defined benefit market
until 2003. That year, it entered the mutual fund business with the launch of
the Paradigm Value Fund. With the rollout, Paradigm Capital Management
broadened its focus to include fee-based advisors and the 401(k) market.
