On October 20, 2021, RayJay, Carillon Tower's parent, unveiled a deal to buy TriState Capital Holdings, the parent of another asset manager: bottom-up, fundamental investing-focused Chartwell Investment Partners. The deal is expected to close in 2022, and it would market Chartwell into Carillon Tower's sixth boutique.
A wholly owned subsidiary of Raymond James Financial, Eagle Asset Management has been around since 1976, and it launched its mutual fund family in 1985. Eagle is an affiliate of RayJay's multi-boutique global asset management subsidiary, Carillon Tower Advisers, along with ClariVest Asset Management and Cougar Global Investments.
In 2017, RayJay acquired Scout Investments and Reams Asset Management from UMB Financial Corp.. Scout and Reams became part of Carillon Tower. The Eagle and Scout fund families rebranded in 2017 as the Carillon Family of Funds.
