Morningstar nominated Dan Fuss for its Fixed Income Manager of the decade award in November 2009. Morningstar also named Fuss as the 2009 Morningstar Manager of the Year for fixed income.
Fuss PMs five mutual funds -- Loomis Sayles Bond, Loomis Sayles Global Markets, Loomis Sayles Institutional High Income, Loomis Sayles Investment Grade Bond and Loomis Sayles Strategic Income. He joined the firm in 1976 and serves as vice chairman.
Robert H. Loomis and Ralph T. Sayles founded the firm in Boston as a partnership in 1926, then in 1931 re-formed it as a corporation.
In 1968, New England Mutual Life Insurance Company bought a majority stake and Loomis Sayles became part of New England Investment Companies, which in 1998 rebranded as Nvest.
In 2000, CDC IXIS Asset Management (now Natixis) purchased all the units of Nvest LP and Nvest Companies LP.
