On February 1, 2022, Polen Capital closed on its planned acquisition of DDJ Capital Management, bringing Polen into the high yield investing business.
The late David Polen founded his eponymous firm in 1979 in New York City. The firm remains primarily employee-owned, though its headquarters has since moved to the Sunshine State. They also have offices in Boston and London.
In 2015, iM Global Partner, a European firm that invests in asset managers and helps with distribution, acquired a minority stake in Polen.
Investment Philosophy
A disciplined, bottom-up, concentrated U.S. equity investment manager. The firm now has four main investment teams (which they call "autonomous investment franchises): large cap growth, small cap growth, emerging markets growth, and high yield.
Products
The firm launched its first mutual fund -- the Polen Growth Fund -- in September 2010. They launched their first UCITs fund in 2013 and their first CIT in 2016.
