  • Background:
In the summer of 2016, BPV liquidated its mutual funds and exited the asset management business. BPV's parent, Northshore Management, bought a majority stake in Fiveworx, and BPV transformed into Finworx, a fintech startup focused on supporting FA's client communications. Finworx has both employee-stakeholders and outside investors.

BPV traces its roots to 2001, when former dotcom entrepreneur Mike West opened Northshore Management as a family office. In 2009 he created BPV Wealth Management, and BPV entered the mutual fund business in November 2011 with the launch of BPV Core Diversification Fund and BPV Wealth Preservation Fund.

In 2012 BPV Wealth Management rebranded as BPV Capital Management.

In 2014, BPV bought New Jersey-based Skyview Investment Advisors, a mutual fund subadvisor.

In 2015, BPV bought Florida-based Cain Brothers Asset Management, an institutional asset manager.

BPV Capital Management was built on the simple belief that all investors deserve the ability to retire well. In their view, every individual should have the ability to achieve his or her own “back porch vista” through careful planning and saving. In their evolution from family office, to advisor, and finally to a family of funds, they sat in every chair at the table, which the BPV team saw as offering a unique understanding of the challenges each member of the BPV family faces. To West and his team, the back porch vista concept is a state mind.
