Background:

David Sherman, a former insurance company executive, founded Cohanzick Management, LLC in 1996. In 2016, he launched its mutual fund firm subsidiary, CrossingBridge Advisors, LLC.
Cohanzick, which is 100-percent employee-owned, is named after native Americans (who are ancestors of the Nanticoke and Lenape families) near the Cohansey River in southern New Jersey (where Sherman grew up). Sherman credits his choice of name to the commitment, courage, independent thinking, patience, and perseverance of the Cohanzicks, who in 1995 reclaimed 28 sacred acres of tribal land more than three centuries after a land grant.
The teams at Cohanzick and CrossingBridge specialize in fixed income asset management (specifically high yield, investment grade, and corporate credit). They also offer some event-driven and value equity strategies (including a SPAC-focused ETF).
