NightShares was founded by Bruce Lavine, a veteran ETF executive who previously held leadership roles at WisdomTree and iShares.
NightShares' ETFs are advised by sister company AlphaTrAI Funds, Inc.. (The AlphaTrAI team describes the asset manager as "bringing investment management into the age of Artificial Intelligence.")
NightShares and AlphaTrAI debuted their first ETFs in June 2022, with help from subadvisor Exchange Traded Concepts LLC (ETC). The funds are designed to help capture what the NightShares team calls "the night effect," i.e. the overnight performance of the markets (when the exchanges are closed).
