Twin Oak ETF Company was founded in 2023 by Zach Wainwright, a former manager of a large single-family office and a former analyst at Wellington and RBS. Twin Oak's first ETF, the Twin Oak Short Horizon Absolute Return ETF (TOAK) debuted in August 2024.
The Twin Oak team describes their shop as a "tax aware investment firm," with a focus on providing institutional quality investment offerings to family offices and other tax-sensitive investors. Twin Oak's investment philosophy's four foundational pillars are: creativity, simplicity, stewardship, and tax awareness. And the firm's tagline is, "Created for families. Backed by family offices."
Twin Oak's namesake is a family farm built by Sydney Wolfe (great-grandfather to Wainwright) in Illinois more than 60 years ago.
