E*Trade Asset Management is right on track with its proprietary family of funds, filing with the SEC to offer two new funds, the E*Trade Extended Market Index and E*Trade Aggregate Bond Index funds.
E*Trade Asset Management was formed in mid-February, and its first fund, the E*Trade S&P 500 Index Fund launched soon after. The company has said that it will continue to add index funds, enhanced index funds, and fund-of-funds in the 18 months.
The E*Trade Extended Market Index Fund will seek to track the performance of the Wilshire 4500 Index. This mid- and small-Cap index, is equivalent to the Wilshire 5000 Total Market Index,
less the securities of companies in the Standard & Poor's 500 Index.
The E*Trade Total Bond Index Fund will seek to track the performance of the Lehman Brothers Government/Corporate Bond Index, which includes approximately 5000 fixed-income securities, including U.S. Government securities and investment grade corporate bonds.
The Funds will be advised by E*Trade Asset Management and distributed by E*Trade Securities, Inc.
