The 36-year-old Aram Green
, co-PM of Legg Mason
] ClearBridge Small Cap Growth Fund
, was interviewed by Johanna Bennett in Barrons
. Bennett did not interview Jeffrey Russell, the fund's co-manager. Green's fund saw a 37 percent gain so far this year. He looks for companies that have between $500 million and 2 billion in market value with sustainable long-term growth prospects.

The fund is overweight technology and underweight in health care, which is slightly unpredictable as it's experiencing changes due to Obamacare.
According to Bennett, Green said that he's not interested in less developed biotechs because they're too high-risk, high-reward as they may never get approved by the FDA.
Aram is a bit of a contrarian as an article
in The New York Times
showed last year. The Grey Lady quoted Aram as saying that volatility in the market provides an opportunity to enter stocks that the market may have unduly punished."
