Week In Preview, March 5-11

This is the fourth year of "Ring the Bell for Gender Equality" around International Women's Day, which falls on Thursday. IFC, the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, UN Global Compact, UN Women, Women in ETFs, and the World of Federation of Exchanges are teaming up with 59 stock exchanges around the world for bell ringing celebrations from today through next Tuesday. In the U.S., "Ring the Bell for Gender Equality" will come to the Nasdaq for Wednesday's closing bell, to the NYSE and IEX for Friday's closing bells, and to BATS next Tuesday for the closing bell.

Today the Mutual Fund Directors Forum (MFDF) team will host an open forum lunch meeting at the Club Mediterra in Naples, Florida as part of the organization's director discussion series. They'll also host a similar lunch meeting tomorrow at the Willoughby Golf Club in Stuart, Florida.

Also tomorrow, the RBC Capital Markets team will kick off their two-day financial institutions conference in New York City.

On Wednesday the Mutual Fund Education Alliance (MFEA) team will kick off the MFEA Digital Summit, this time at Charles Schwab's headquarters in San Francisco. The two-day event will feature a number of speakers, including: Daniel Cross, vice president of digital solutions for financial services at DST; Mike Croth, vice president of digital marketing at Matthews Asia; Stephen Diorio, director at the Forbes Marketing Accountability Initiative; Charles Ehm, information architect for sales at Charles Schwab Investment Managmeent; Benedict Evans, partner at Andreessen Horowitz; Sean Hampton, vice president and global head of digital marketing at Janus Henderson (also chair of MFEA's digital council); Kimber Lintz, MFEA director; Mark McKenna, head of global marketing at Putnam Investments; Brian Melter, head of engagement for digital client strategies in digital solutions at DST; Sy Nayman, digital transformation, marketing at RSM US; John Refford, senior consultant at Revenue Architects; and Arun Theivendirarajah, vice president of product at Usermind.

On Thursday the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC's) Investor Advisory Committee will hold a public meeting at the regulatory agency's headquarters in Washington, D.C. The day-long event will feature discussions around four main topics: "regulatory approaches to combat retail investor fraud"; "financial support for law school clinics that support investors"; "dual-share class structures"; and "efforts to combat the financial exploitation of vulnerable adults."
