will join the Chicago-based firm on April 3 as president of Northern Trust Asset Management

Gamba most recently served as co-head of fundamental equities at BlackRock

The appointment of Gamba comes about eight months after Shundrawn Thomas stepped down
as president of NTAM.
Gamba joined Barclays Global Investors in 2000, serving as director of global strategy and CEO for Latin America and the Caribbean. He stayed on when BlackRock bought BGI in 2009, later leading the Americas institutional iShares business and leading active equity product strategy before becoming co-head of fundamental equities in 2020. Earlier, he worked with A.T. Kearney, American Express, and Procter & Gamble. He is an alumnus of Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and of the Universidad Catolica del Peru.
