A veteran fundster distribution leader in Colorado is working with an Empire State recruiting boutique that supports the asset management industry.

William McCarter "Carter" Sims Third Street Partners Principal

Carter Sims recently joined Third Street Partners as a principal, confirms Sims. He started on April and reports to Laura Pollock, founding partner at Third Street Partners, Sims tells MFWire.

Jaclyn Gomez, chief of staff at Third Street Partners, referred inquiries to Pollock. Pollock did not immediately return an email for comment.

His most immediate past employer was Thornburg Investment Management, which he departed from in 2022. His start date was on April 8 and he reports to Sims tells MFWire that he has 35 years of experience in distribution, marketing, and product development. Now, in this new role, he will now focus on helping with the talent search and advisory side of the business.

The new role was the result of conversations lasting for a couple of months. "I have known Laura for over 20 years," Sims says.

Sims most recently led global distribution at Thornburg Investment Management, until leaving the firm in 2022. Before joining Thornburg in 2017, Sims had distribution leadership roles with Schroders, Columbia Threadneedle Investments, Gartmore, and Pilgrim Baxter and Associates. He also worked with Fidelity Investments and PNC. He is an alumnus of Boston College.
