VanEck [

Brendan Gundersen recently moved to VanEck as managing director of the institutional team,
MFWire has learned. Gundersen spent the past two and a half years as managing director and head of institutional intermediary business at New York Life's
MainStay [
profile].
New York Life Investment Management president
Steve Fisher referred inquiries to a company spokeswoman, who confirmed Gundersen's departure but declined to comment on how his duties are being handled.
Rick Potocki, managing director and head of U.S. distribution at VanEck, and Gundersen himself both did not immediately return calls for comment.
An alumnus of both SUNY Plattsburgh and SUNY Albany, Gundersen
joined MainStay in late 2014 after spending eight years at BlackRock. Prior to that he worked at GE Asset Management and S&P.
