Another Fidelity alumnus is taking over State Street Global Advisors (
SSgA) as
Ron O'Hanley takes over its parent.
Jay Hooley, chairman and CEO of State Street Corporation,
confirms today that
Cyrus Taraporevala is succeeding O'Hanley as president and CEO of SSgA. O'Hanley, meanwhile, is succeeding
Mike Rogers as president and chief operating officer of State Street and will succeed Hooley as CEO, too.
Taraporevala previously served as head of the global institutional group at SSgA. He joined in 2016 after leading Fidelity's retail managed accounts and life insurance and annuities business. He previously led North American distribution for BNY Mellon Asset Management, and he also worked at Legg Mason, Citigroup, and McKinsey. He is an alumnus Sydenham College at the University of Bombay and of Cornell's School of Management.
Rogers will retire from State Street at the end of 2017, and Hooley will stay on as chairman through 2019.
