Cooper Abbott, president and chairman of
Carillon Tower Advisers [
profile],
confirms that yesterday Montpelier, Vermont-based
Joy Facos joined the St. Petersburg, Florida-based firm (a subsidiary of Raymond James) as head of responsible investing. Facos reports to Abbott.
Facos most recently served as principal and consultant at ESG Research Associates.
Carillon and its affiliated boutiques — ClariVest, Cougar, Eagle, Reams, and Scout — are signatories to the UN-backed six principles for responsible investing, so Facos will be leading the firm's efforts there. And she'll also be working with those affiliates on ESG issues.
Abbott lauds Facos for her "experience and insights" and puts the move in the context of Carillon's "commitment to responsible investing."
Edward Rick, executive vice president at Carillon, also highlights Facos' "expertise in these matters."
"As client demand for responsible investing grows, hiring an ESG veteran like Joy is a powerful step in executing our long-term plan to formalize our mission statement on responsible investing," Rick states.
For her part, Facos praises the Carillon team for their "exemplary dedication to sustainable and responsible investing."
Facos, an alumna of Yale, previously spent seven years at Sentinel Investments and nearly a decade at Dwight Asset Management.
