Former Invesco PowerShares bigwig Ben Fulton launched Elhorn Capital Group in 2013. In August 2017 Elkhorn and Veracen's Turner Investment Holdings unveiled a deal to buy Elkhorn and bring Fulton's team into the Turner/Veracen fold. Yet that deal fell through at the end of March 2018. Of Elkhorn's four remaining ETFs, two will liquidate and two are being taken over by Innovator Capital Management, another ETF startup led by a prominent PowerShares alum.
Over the years Elkhorn teamed up with a number of allies, including: Barclays, BNP Paribas, Dorsey Wright & Associates, and Lunt Capital. Elkhorn launched UITs (the European equivalent of mutual funds) and 16 ETFs over the years.
