Today the Independent Directors Council (IDC) is kicking off its 2017 Fund Directors Conference. The three-day event is being held at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park in Chicago, Illinois. Speakers scheduled to take the main stage include: Chad Renfro, head of enterprise cybersecurity at Fidelity; Jonathan Zeschin, independent director for Matthews Asia Funds and chair of the IDC Governing Council; and many others.

Also today, the Informa team is kicking off Inside ETFs Europe. The three-day conference is being held at the Hilton Park Lane in London. BNP Paribas Asset Management, Deutsche Asset Management, Morningstar, MSCI, and a host of others are sponsoring.

Tonight DST's kasina team will kick off their 2017 national accounts summit with a dinner at Ilili in New York. The sessions will take place tomorrow at Convene in the TIAA building. Matt Fronczke, senior distribution and product consultant at DST, will deliver the keynote.

Tomorrow the Fixed Income Analysts Society, Inc. (FIASI) will host a luncheon featuring Jack Bogle, founder of Vanguard and FIASI hall of famer. The lunch will be held at the Cornell Club in New York.

On Wednesday the Opal Group team will kick off their 2017 Family Office and Private Wealth Management Forum West. The three-day event is being held at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California. Keynote speakers will include: John Christianson, CEO of Highland Private Wealth Management; Adam Gazzaley, professor at UC San Francisco and founder and executive director of Neuroscape; and Sebastian Terry, author of 100 Things. Altegris, Encore Energy, Global X, Sixty West, Vertical Venture Partners, Wells Fargo Advisors, and a host of others are sponsoring the conference.

Also on Wednesday, the Eaton Vance media relations team will host an investment perspectives media luncheon at the Modern Restaurant in New York. Bob Cunha, managing director of marketing and distribution strategy, will moderate the panel, and the panelists will include: Richard Bernstein, CEO and chief investment officer of Richard Bernstein Advisors; Henry Peabody, diversified fixed income PM at Eaton Vance; Eddie Perkin chief equity investment officer at Eaton Vance; Eric Stein, co-director of global income at Eaton Vance; and John Streur, president and CEO of Calvert Research and Management.

Also on Wednesday, the Mutual Fund Education Alliance (MFEA) team is hosting a marketing summit at Morningstar headquarters in Chicago. Speakers will include: Neil Bathon, founder of Fuse Research Network; Andre Black, vice president of product at Allego; John Davis, director of communications and marketing at the Royce Funds; Jessica Douieb, head of digital solutions at Goldman Sachs Asset Management; Craig Dunham, general manager and vice president of financial services at Seismic; Ramsin Jajoo, head of asset management solutions, North America at M*; Vicki Lester, head of intermediary marketing at Columbia Threadneedle; Mark Magnacca, president and co-founder of Allego; Karrie Meehan, vice president of marketing at Fidelity Institutional Asset Management; Kim Neuwirth, director of product management at Narrative Science; Bill Rader, national sales manager for DC I-O and wealth management at American Century; and Linda York, senior vice president of Market Strategies International.

On Wednesday, after the marketing summit, the MFEA team will shift over to the JW Marriott Chicago for the trade group's 21st annual STAR Awards celebration. The cocktail party and awards show is being sponsored by Harvest, Harvest Graphics, Imprint, and Powell Photography and Creative Services.

On Thursday Out@Morningstar will host its inaugural "Investing For Equality" panel discussion at M*'s headquarters in Chicago. Panelists will include: Jeremy Glaser, editor of Morningstar.com; Jon Hale, director of sustainability research at M*; and Matthew Patsky, CEO of Trillium Asset Management.
