18 of the Richest U.S. Fundsters In 2026

At least 18 U.S. fundsters and their family members, with a combined net worth of about $112 billion, are among the richest people in the world, according to a freshly released list from the folks at a business magazine.

Last week, the Forbes team released the 2026 edition of list of "The World's Billionaires". This is the 40th annual installment of the list (which debuted back in 1987), and it includes a record 3,428 people (up by 400 from 2025) with a combined $20.1 trillion in net worth (up by $4 trillion year-over-year)*. A record 989 of the list's billionaires are in the United States.

U.S. fundsters, and fundster family members, on the 2026 Forbes list, include:

  • Abby Johnson, CEO of Fidelity Investments, ranked 633rd on the list, with a net worth of $33.2 billion;

  • Edward Johnson, IV, brother of Abby, #216, $13.6 billion;

  • Elizabeth Johnson, sister of Edward and Abby, #271, $11.6 billion;

  • Ron Baron, founder of Baron Capital, #461, $7.9 billion;

  • Mark Walter, CEO of Guggenheim Partners, #528, $7.3 billion;

  • Cliff Asness, co-founder of AQR Capital Management, #664, $6.3 billion;

  • Charles Johnson, former CEO of Franklin Templeton, #730, $5.7 billion;

  • Rupert Johnson, vice chairman of Franklin, #908, $4.7 billion;

  • Rajiv Jain, chairman of GQG Partners, #954, $4.5 billion;

  • David Booth, chairman of Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA), #1560, $2.7 billion;

  • Mario Gabelli, CEO of Gamco Investors, #1913, $2.2 billion;

  • John Liew, co-founder of AQR, #1982, $2.1 billion;

  • David Kabiller, co-founder of AQR, and Bill Gross, co-founder of Pimco, tied at #2052 with $2 billion each;

  • Sue Gross, ex-wife of Bill, #2177, $1.9 billion;

  • Jeffrey Gundlach, CEO of DoubleLine Capital, #2481, $1.6 billion;

  • Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, and Tom Bailey, founder of Janus Capital, tied at #2858 with $1.3 billion.
