Today in New York City the Investments & Wealth Insitute (formerly IMCA) team will kick off their two-day Investment Advisor Forum. Speakers scheduled to appear include: author Stephen Dubner of Freakonomics fame; Katherine Ellis Nixon, executive vice president and chief investment officer of Northern Trust; Kevin Kajiwara, co-president of Teneo Intelligence, Toby Moskowitz, Yale finance professor, and a host of others. Top sponsors of the conference include: Nationwide; Invesco's PowerShares; Raymond James; Russell; and TD Ameritrade. The conference is being held at the New York Marriott Marquis.

Also today in Manhattan, the CFA Society New York is holding an event called Peak Passive — Unintended Consequences of Passive Investing & Implications for Investors. The event, scheduled for this morning at the CFA NY Conference Center in midtown, is sponsored by Fordham's Gabelli Center for Global Security Analysis. Speakers scheduled to appear include: Jim Rowley, head of active and passive portfolio management at Vanguard; Martin Small, managing director and head of U.S. iShares at BlackRock; and David Winters, CEO and PM of the Wintergreen Funds.

Also today in the Big Apple, the Fixed Income Analysts Society, Inc. (FIASI) will continue its speaker series, this time with a networking reception and "year ahead" presentation featuring Bob Michele, managing director and chief investment officer at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. The evening event will be held at the Cornell Club in midtown.

Also today in New York City, the KraneShares team is coming to the NYSE for the ETF shop's One Belt One Road Summit. After breakfast, the KraneShares team will ring the exchange's opening bell. Sessions afterward will feature remarks from: Brendan Ahern, chief investment officer at KraneShares; Xiaolin Chen, global head of investment solutions at KraneShares; Stuart Doole, managing director of research at MSCI; Liang Hong, chief economist and director of global research at CICC (KraneShare's majority parent since last year); Jonathan Krane, CEO of KraneShares; Willim Overholt, senior fellow at Harvard's Asia center; and Steve Sjuggerud, editor of True Wealth and True Wealth China Opportunities.

Also today in Gotham, State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) is holding an event about "The Next 25" years of ETFs, in advance of the 25th birthday of their SPY ETF later this month. In addition to a cocktail reception, the event will also feature a panel discussion including: Josh Brown, CEO of Ritholtz Wealth Management; Dave Nadig, CEO of ETF.com; Jim Ross, chairman of SSgA's SPDR ETF business; and Kathryn Sweeney, head of SPDR Americas institutonal sales. The event is being held at the St. Regis Hotel in midtown.

On Thursday in Boston, the Crane Data team will kick off their Money Fund University. The training event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Boston, and top sponsors include: BNY Mellon's Dreyfus; Federated; Fidelity; ; and JPMAM. Also on Thursday, AARP New York, BofA Merrill, the Global Coalition on Aging, and the New York Academy of Medicine are teaming up to host a one-day symposium: Financial Wellness for Longer Lives: New Approaches to Working and Saving. The event is being held at BofA's conference center in the World Financial Center. Some of the speakers include: Kevin Crain, managing director, head of workplace financial solutions, market integration executive for New York City at BofA Merrill; Teresa Ghilarducci, professor at the New School; Dave Paulsen, chief distribution officer at Transamerica; and Bruce Wolfe, executive director at the BlackRock Retirement Institute.

On Saturday Dalia Blass, director of the division of investment management at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), will participate in a seminar by the Los Angeles chapter of the American Association of Individual Investors (AAII). The morning event will be held at the Skirball Cultural Center and will feature remarks from Charles Rotblut, vice president and financial analyst at AAII, and Tom Petruno, a columnist. The LA chapter of the AAII holds meetings at the Skirball Center on the third Saturday of every month.

On Sunday in Hollywood Florida, the informa team will kick off their 2018 Inside ETFs conference. The four-day event will be at the Diplomat Beach Resort will feature a number of speakers, including: Rob Arnott, founder and chairman of Research Affiliates; Tim Buckley, president and CEO of Vanguard; Mohamed El-Erian, chief economist at Allianz; Tom Farley, president of the NYSE; jazz musician Quincy Jones, and founding index ambassador at IconicBeta; Michael Kitces, partner and director of research for Pinnacle Advisory Group and publisher of the Nerd's Eye View; Alan Krueger, former chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisors; retired U.S. general Stanley McChrystal; Bob Pisani, 'On-Air Stocks' editor at CNBC; Barry Ritholtz, chairman and CIO of Ritzholtz Wealth Management; and tennis star Serena Williams
