An ETF startup is neck and neck with the world's biggest asset manager and ETF shop in an industry awards race.
Yesterday
ETF.com revealed the finalists for its 2017 awards. The winners will be revealed and honored at the 2018
ETF.com Awards Dinner, the publication's fifth annual awards gala, on March 22 in New York City.
BlackRock and
EventShares lead the pack with eight finalist spots each. Others frequent nominees include:
QuantX, 6 finalist spots;
GraniteShares and
VanEck, five spots each; and
Ark,
Exchange Traded Concepts,
Global X,
Goldman Sachs,
Invesco,
J.P. Morgan,
Nuveen,
SSgA,
Vanguard, and
WisdomTree, with four spots each.
Most of the 32 categories recognize specific funds (or pairs of funds), though some recognize asset managers or their allies, and the lifetime achievement category is an individual award. Notably, there are no finalists this year in one category, "best new currency ETF." Here's the
full list of nominees.
The process began with public nominations from December 4, 2017 through January 2, 2018. The
ETF.com awards nominating committee (made up of leaders from
ETF.com and two allies, Inside ETFs and FactSet) then picked up to six finalists for each category. Independent experts on the
ETF.com awards selection committee vote on those finalists to pick the winners.
