Investment Strategy


On November 1, the JPMorgan Intrepid Advantage Fund will become the JPMorgan Intrepid Sustainable Leaders Fund and its strategies and benchmark will change, too.

Beginning on October 14, the Mainstay Money Market Fund "will operate as a 'retail money market fund'" under the SEC's latest money market reforms.

M&A


Pacific Life Insurance Company's Pacific Asset Advisors bought Cadence Capital Management on June 30. Cadence continues to subadvise the SunAmerica Small-Cap Fund.

Fees


Putnam updated the fee schedules for the Putnam Capital Opportunities Fund, the Putnam Growth Opportunities Fund, the Putnam International Capital Opportunities Fund, the Putnam International Growth Fund, the Putnam Research Fund, the Putnam Small Cap Value Fund, the George Putnam Balanced Fund, the Putnam Dynamic Asset Allocation Growth Fund, the Putnam Global Income Trust, and the Putnam American Government Income Fund.

Deutsche adjusted the creation and redemption fee schedule for a number of ETFs, including: the Deutsche X-trackers MSCI Emerging Markets Hedged Equity ETF, the Deutsche X-trackers Japan JPX-Nikkei 400 Equity ETF, the Deutsche X-trackers MSCI Europe Hedged Equity ETF, the Deutsche X-trackers MSCI Germany Hedged Equity ETF, the Deutsche X-trackers FTSE Developed ex US Comprehensive Factor ETF, the Deutsche X-trackers FTSE Emerging Comprehensive Factor ETF, the Deutsche X-trackers Russell 1000 Comprehensive Factor ETF, the Deutsche X-trackers Russell 2000 Comprehensive Factor ETF.

Lazard updated the fee schedule for the Lazard Enhance Opportunities Portfolio and the Lazard Fundamental Long/Short Portfolio.

Portfolio Managers


Wells Fargo added Joseph Bishop and Brian Zied of Pine River Capital Management as PMs for the Wells Fargo Alternative Strategies Fund.

Rajeev Sharma succeeded Clark Wagner as director of fixed income at Forresters Investment Management Company (FIMCO), which advises the First Investors Funds. Wagner, in turn, rose to president of FIMCO.

Merging and Liquidating


Columbia Threadneedle plans to liquidate the Columbia Global Unconstrained Bond Fund on August 25.

Subadvisors


Amundi Smith Breeden replaced Standard Life Investments as subadvisor to the Nationwide World Bond Fund, and the fund was rebranded as the Nationwide Amundi World Bond Fund.

Trustees


On August 18 Angela Brock-Kyle and Sandra G. Sponem joined the board of the Rydex Series Funds, the Rydex Variable Trust, and the Rydex ETF Trust as independent trustees.

Exemptive Relief


Blue Sky Asset Management requested exemptive relief to offer ETFs.

Vanguard requested exemptive relief to offer active ETFs.

USAA requested exemptive relief around offering funds-of-funds, and around offering ETFs.
