News summary by MFWire's editors

The U.S. team at Aberdeen Standard has a lot to celebrate today, as do the teams at Hennessy, Janus Henderson, Saturna Capital, and T. Rowe Price.

Last night at the freshly rebranded Investment Management Education Alliance's (IMEA's) 22nd annual STAR Awards celebration, Aberdeen Standard won eight awards, more than any other firm and up from five last year. Its wins included IMEA's 2018 Community Investment Award, in part thanks to the charitable efforts of 400 Aberdeen Standard employees on the company's global volunteer day earlier this year.

Hennessy and Janus Henderson won six STAR awards each, and Saturna and T. Rowe each won five.

The STAR Awards were presented in a celebration at the Grand Hyatt in downtown Chicago.

And Carillon Tower Advisers, Federated, Hartford, John Hancock, Legg Mason, Nationwide, and Nuveen each won two awards.

Fund firms that each won a single STAR award included: 361 Capital, American Century, AQR, Axa, BNY Mellon, Charles Schwab, Equinox Funds, First State Investments, FundX, Macquarie, Principal, Royce, and Thornburg
